PLEASE NOTE UPDATED TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR 

THE WILLIAM & GARLAND MOTEL: 

FINANCIAL POLICY:

  • A valid credit card is required to have on file to hold all reservations.
  • We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.
  • Upon check-in, payment is due in full for the total amount of the stay, plus tax.


CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • We require 72 hours notice prior to check-in for all cancellations.
  • We require a valid credit card on file to hold all reservations.
  • If the guest cancels less than 72 hours from their check-in date, a non-refundable fee of the first night’s stay plus tax will be charged to the credit card on file. 
  • Any cancellations made after 3:00 PM the day prior to check-in, will be subject to the total price of the reservation. 
  • In case of a “no-show”, the total price of the reservation will be charged and is non-refundable.
  • If the guest arrives and decides to leave early, the nights not spent are non-refundable.
  • All cancellations must be acknowledged through phone call, text, or email.


CHECKING IN: 

  • You can check-in any time after 3:00 PM. Due to our limited availability, we are not able to accomodate early check-ins. 
  • If you arrive early, you are welcome to park and go out to the beach. Please send us a text to let us know that your vehicle is on site and we will let you know when your room is ready.
  • If you plan to check in past 8:00 PM, you must let us know in advance.
  • You MUST be 25 years old and present to check into your room.
  • Please bring a form of ID to present at check-in.


CHECKING OUT:

  • You must check-out by 11:00 AM. Anyone checking out later than 11:00 AM, will be charged for an additional night.
  • Return keys to the office or drop box located next to the office door. There is a $25.00 fee for all lost keys.
  • Do not strip sheets/linens from beds. This creates a transfer of sand and hair to our mattress and pillow protectors.
  • There will be a $50 charge for any deep cleans of kitchenettes. You can wash your dishes, and leave them in the drying rack if they are still wet. Drying racks and sponges are located under the sink.


SMOKING POLICY:

  • ALL ROOMS ARE NON-SMOKING OF ANY SUBSTANCE!
  • You must keep room doors and windows closed while smoking on the walkway or outside of the cottages.
  • Any smoking in the rooms or strong lingering smoking scents that require room closure and deep cleans will be charged a cleaning fee of $250 to the credit card on file. This will not be up for discussion.
  • All communal outdoor areas are NON-SMOKING.


HOUSEKEEPING AND GENERAL INFO:

  • Entry and housekeeping service must be made at minimum every other day.
  • Extra coffee pods, cream, and sugar are located in the cart in the center of the Motel room’s walkway.
  • We do not have an ice machine on the property. The water on the island is heavily mineralized. We do not drink the tap water. It is tested regularly and is safe to shower and bathe with. If you need ice and bottled water, you can visit a local grocery.
  • Sunscreens that contain chemicals, such as avobenzone and oxybenzone will create a very difficult to remove orange stain on swimsuits and clothing when mixed with minerals, such as iron, in shower water. We recommend mineral sunscreens, such as Coppertone Pure & Simple, Cerave, or any other zinc oxide based products. These are also safer on your skin and the coral reef! For your convenience, we have these for sale in our lobby.


PET POLICY: PLEASE BE ADVISED OF NEW PET FEES AND POLICIES!

  • Fee for pets 25 lbs and under is $25 per pet, per night. All poodles and non-shedding dogs are also $25 per pet, per night.
  • Fee for pets 25-50 lbs is $35 per pet, per night.
  • Fee for pets over 50 lbs is $50 per pet, per night.
  • Please fill out weight and breed information when booking your reservation and signing our pet policy.
  • Pets are limited to 2 pets per room.
  • We do not allow pets less than 6 months old.
  • Pets must be up to date on all vaccinations.
  • We have dedicated pet-friendly rooms.Room #s 3, 5, 8, and 10, are NOT pet friendly, #11 is limited to pets less than 25 lbs. To avoid any confusion or disruption at check-in, you must notify us when booking your reservation that you want a pet-friendly room.
  • All pets must be well-behaved and clean!
  • The pet relief area is behind rooms #1-4.
  • Additional cleaning fees may be applied for bathroom accidents, excessive shedding, or stains to furniture or linens.
  • All pets MUST be crated when left in the room unattended. There will be NO exceptions to this policy. There will be a $50 fee applied for any pets left in the room without a crate.
  • We do not allow pets that bark or make loud noise uncontrollably for extended periods of time. This is disruptive to our other guests. Any pets that are heard loudly for an extended period of time, will be asked to leave and no refund will be given for your stay.
  • If we need to enter the room for any reason when you are not there, we are not responsible for a pet trying to escape and getting out.
  • Should your pet cause property or item damage, an incidental fee will be charged at market value to your credit card on file.
  • Bringing blankets and towels for your pets is encouraged. We have extra towels and blankets set aside for pets, so please ask us for them if you need them.
  • Do not allow sandy pets to get in or on top of bedding or sofas and do not use clean linens to wipe sand or dirt from your pets. Please use the outdoor shower and dedicated pet towels as necessary.


PARKING POLICY: 

  • Parking is available in front of your room. 
  • Please park in line with parking bumpers and pull up to bumper until tires touch.
  • One vehicle per room is guaranteed. You must let us know prior to arrival if you have more than one vehicle and we will let you know if we are able to accommodate you. 
  • By parking a vehicle at our facility, you are doing so on your own accord. We do not take responsibility or accept liability for damage, accident or loss to your vehicle or personal property. 
  • If you plan to check-out and then go to the beach for the day, please check with us if we can accommodate your vehicle in our parking area. There are also several public beach accesses close by.


SAUNA RULES AND INFORMATION:

  • Hours of Operation are 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM.
  • Enter and Exit slowly. Watch step at sauna entrance.
  • All guests must shower before entering the sauna. Sand, oils, body lotion, and minerals are prohibited.
  • PREGNANT WOMEN, ELDERLY PERSONS, AND PERSONS SUFFERING FROM HEART DISEASE, DIABETES, OR HIGH OR LOW BLOOD PRESSURE SHOULD NOT ENTER THE SAUNA WITHOUT PRIOR MEDICAL CONSULTATION AND PERMISSION FROM THEIR DOCTOR.
  • DO NOT USE THE SAUNA WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL, TRANQUILIZERS, OR OTHER DRUGS THAT CAUSE DROWSINESS OR THAT RAISE OR LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE.
  • NO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 12 YEARS OLD ARE PERMITTED.
  • Children ages 12-17 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • All pets are prohibited.
  • Glass is prohibited.
  • This is a non-smoking area. 
  • There is a 4 person maximum limit for the sauna.
  • Observe reasonable time limits (10-15 minutes), then leave sauna and cool down before returning.
  • Be advised - long exposure may result in nausea, dizziness, or fainting.


DAMAGES: 

  • Please note that a more detailed inspection of the room is made after the check-out time and we reserve the right to make charges for any damages or breakages found before the room is occupied again.
  • Please be aware that bed linen and towels are NOT gifts and should be left in the room. Do not take our towels or blankets to the beach.
  • Please refrain from using any self tanning or bronzing products in the room or shower. 
  • The Tenant is responsible for any damages or breakages found that are over and above normal wear and tear and usage. 
  • Property damages or missing items will be charged an incidental fee at market value to your credit card on file. 
  • An excessive cleaning fee may be charged if additional cleaning is required above and beyond the normal time allotted.
  • Please practice safe cooking habits and do not leave burners on unattended.
  • We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items. This includes any items left in the rooms in an inconspicuous location. Any items found by housekeeping will be reported to the guest and held on the property for no more than 30 days.


IMMEDIATE TERMINATION OF YOUR STAY IS POSSIBLE IF:

  • The guests staying are other than those that made the reservation. 
  • There are more guests staying in the room than agreed.
  • There is any excessive noise or rowdiness.
  • Quiet hours are 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM. This includes the outdoor lounge space and grill area.
